Ladies and gentlemen, our beloved country, America, is in dire straits right now:

1. We have by far the highest national debt in our nation’s history. Our government is over $34.2 trillion in debt. That is $34,200,000,000,000. Much of our national debt is owned by foreign countries. We are continuing to increase our national debt every year, spending like “drunken sailors” or immature teenagers, going further and further into debt. Every year, we spend more than we are bringing in as revenue. This cannot continue indefinitely. Eventually our finance system will fail and it could collapse. What then? Our dollar will plummet in value and US inflation will be like that of Venezuela.

2. Our most dangerous enemies include China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and numerous terrorist organizations. Russia is now in a war with Ukraine, and the US is providing by far the largest share of military assistance and armament to Ukraine of any nation in the world. We are about to place Patriot missiles and a US Patriot missile battery of soldiers into Ukraine, potentially putting them in direct combat with Russian forces. China is threatening to take over Taiwan, which we have a treaty to protect. Taiwan is one of the largest producers of semi-conductors in the world. China is also building armed and well-defended islands in the South China Sea, pouring tons of concrete to build them up from small coral atolls into actual inhabited outposts complete with airfields, runways, and air defense systems. These new islands threaten the large amount of commerce that transits that part of the world, bringing a large percentage of goods to America and Europe. Iran is building and supplying armed drones and missile systems to Russia to use in Ukraine, and they are now being used against civilian targets as well as military targets. North Korea has been firing numerous missiles into the atmosphere over the last few months. These missiles are capable of carrying nuclear weapons – which North Korea has a stockage of — and some of these missiles have recently overflown Japanese territory. Terrorist organizations continue to grow, evolve, and disperse their personnel worldwide and in October 2023, Hamas terrorists attacked Israel, killing over 1,000 civilians. In our own country, many known terrorists on the terrorist watch list have been caught this year crossing our unsecure US southern border. How many more terrorists are “got aways” that have now crossed illegally into our Country?

3. Many of our country’s electrical grids, water purification plants, fuel production, and electronic infrastructure are aging and are vulnerable to both natural and man-made catastrophes. A recent attack involving unknown assailants shooting out electrical substation transformers in Moore County, North Carolina resulted in electrical power being out for thousands of citizens for over a week.

4. Our country’s financial markets are currently sensitive to both real and imagined threats. The stock market has fluctuated significantly this year and crypto-currency companies have struggled. Most employed worker’s 401k accounts have dropped between 15% to 30% this year in net value.
