Welcome to Build and Survive with Lancero Mike!

Greetings! I am Colonel (Retired) Michael “Lancero Mike” Franck, US Army Special Forces.
I retired as a US Army officer after 30 years of active-duty service. During my challenging and action-packed military career,
I had the great fortune to serve with some of the toughest units in the world — the US Army Rangers and US Army Special Forces.
I learned many valuable survival skills while serving with those professional soldiers,
and I want to share that knowledge with you!

BE PREPARED FOR ANYTHING!

With all of these major problems, it is time to prepare ourselves and our families for any emergency –
and these emergencies are surely coming! If we wait to prepare, it will soon be too late.

During my military career, I was called to serve in combat four times. My experience includes a combat parachute jump and airfield seizure operations as an Army Ranger mortar gunner during Operation URGENT FURY in Grenada (1983), a second combat parachute jump and combat operations as a Ranger Platoon Leader in Panama during Operation JUST CAUSE (1989), special operations in Afghanistan with a Special Forces battalion headquartered at Kandahar Airfield during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (2002-03), and commanding a Military Transition Team in Iraq during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (2008-09). I have mentored and trained foreign troops in many deployed locations including Colombia, Chile, Afghanistan, Iraq, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Central African Republic. I also have extensive experience in Special Operations Force (SOF) concept development, operations research, wargaming, and equipment testing.

I intend to use this knowledge I have gained to assist competent, dedicated American men and women to become more prepared to survive and to protect their families in the event of an emergency or a survival situation. It is for this reason that I have named my business “Build and Survive with Lancero Mike”.

What you get. We provide our customers with a detailed Plan of Action, a Decision Matrix, and a Flow Chart (“if this, then that”) enabling them to achieve increasing levels of preparedness. Our intent is not to sell “stuff” or kit, but instead to provide a clear plan, a packing list, and a decision checklist. We help our customers get into an aggressive frame of mind regarding survival, so they can meet their responsibilities to protect their families – wives, husbands, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, parents, and even pets – and to ensure that they stay safe and healthy. We lay out a clear, achievable plan to increase your level of preparation and can tailor specialized plans to work within anyone’s budget or degree of experience.

Why “Lancero Mike”? I earned this nickname after graduating with distinction from the International Lancero Course conducted by the Colombian Army in Tolemaida, Colombia in 1994. This course is the Colombian Army’s version of US Army Ranger School and has a similar program of instruction while being conducted in the mountains and jungles of South America. As the only US Army officer in my course, I felt a tremendous responsibility to represent our great country in as strong and positive of a way as possible. Very few Special Forces personnel have the opportunity to attend and graduate from this difficult course, conducted completely in Spanish, and my Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (SFODA) teammates began calling me “Lancero Mike” from that time forward. I am proud to have had this rare, difficult foreign military training experience during my Army career, and I think the nickname has a unique “ring” to it.

Now, are you ready to significantly increase your level of preparedness to handle any emergency? Great! Then let’s get to it!
